Rhino Sculpture - with Hokusai Art Print
Celebrating Hokusai
Hokusai’s Falls of Kirifuri at Mount Kurokami (c.1832) is part of his celebrated series A Tour of Waterfalls in Various Provinces. The woodblock print captures both the beauty and the overwhelming force of Japan’s landscapes. Hokusai used bold lines and curving forms to create the illusion of motion. Tiny human figures at the base emphasize the scale and power of nature, a common theme in his work.
His most iconic work, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, made him internationally known, especially when Japanese prints reached Europe in the 19th century and influenced Impressionists like Monet and Van Gogh.
